Slicing Software

PrintessFlow

A purpose-built slicer tailored specifically for the Printessa One dual-syringe dispensing system. It converts 3D models into precise, print-ready toolpaths with settings and workflows designed around the demands of gel extrusion. Every feature in PrintessFlow is designed for simplicity, not complexity.

Pronterface

Pronterface is the print host used to send G-code to the Printessa. Download and install it before your first print.

Workflow

How It Works

01

Import or Draw Your Model

Import an STL file, or draw your geometry directly on the build plate with the Path Designer using lines, arcs, circles, and curves. Assign materials to each extruder; PrintessFlow supports single and dual-material constructs.

02

Configure Syringes & Tips

Select a syringe size and a dispense tip for each extruder. PrintessFlow sets line width and layer height automatically.

03

Adjust Print Settings

Tune retraction distance, flow rate, print speed, and infill to match your material and geometry. Settings that work for one gel may need adjustment for another.

04

Slice & Export

Slice with gel-optimized profiles, use the Well Plate Arranger for multi-sample runs, and export a Pronterface-compatible file ready to print.

Capabilities

What makes it
different

01

Syringe Selector

Select from standard 1 mL, 3 mL, or 5 mL syringes per extruder, or define a custom syringe with your own volume and inner diameter. Two different syringes can be used within a single print.

02

Dispense Tip Selector

Pre-configured tip profiles ranging from 0.10 mm to 1.54 mm ID. Selecting a tip automatically sets line width and layer height for the entire print. Custom tip profiles can be created for non-standard tips.

03

Gel-Optimized Print Settings

All relevant settings are consolidated under the Printessa One profile: retraction distance, flow rate, print and travel speeds, infill pattern, and print level clearance.

04

Layer-By-Layer & One-At-A-Time

Two post-processing modes: Layer-By-Layer prints all parts one layer at a time across the build plate; One-At-A-Time fully completes each part before moving to the next.

05

Path Designer

Draw print paths directly on the build plate using lines, arcs, circles, and curves. No STL required: drawn paths are exported straight to G-code at the speed and flow of the active print profile.

06

Pronterface-Compatible Export

The built-in post-processing script remaps axes to the Printessa One convention and exports a Pronterface-compatible .txt file ready to load and print.
